Custom Error Pages
Take a plunge into website error pages. Discover when they show up and why you should make your individual custom error pages.
When a page on your website doesn't load, an error message will be shown to the site visitor. Because there are different errors, there are different pages which will display, but what is standard for all of them is that they are generic and probably will have practically nothing in common with the layout of your website, which could be irritating for any site visitor. This is the reason why web hosting service providers have introduced a feature called Custom Error Pages. For a range of different errors, visitors will see your custom made content, which can be informative or amusing, based on your taste, and that will match the overall design of your site, so the pages shall not seem like they are not part of your website at all. You may use this option for numerous errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).
Custom Error Pages in Shared Web Hosting
You shall be able to set up custom error pages for each of your domains or subdomains. The feature is supported by all shared web hosting package that we provide, so after you log in to the Hepsia Control Panel and visit the Hosted Domains section, you can easily click on the Edit button for a domain/subdomain and in the pop-up that will show up, you can select the sort of error page that should show up - a default one from our system, a conventional Apache web server page or a custom one. For the latter alternative, you will need to specify the URL to the page, so when you use customized pages, you have to upload the files inside your Internet hosting account first. An alternative way is to use an .htaccess file positioned inside the domain or subdomain folder with a line for each and every error type. The exact syntax can be seen in our Knowledge Base, so you can use this feature even if you don't have any previous experience.
