A File Manager software tool is present in all hosting Control Panels. As the name implies, it is used to command the files inside an account and all File Managers support a number of standard features - browsing, moving, copying and deleting files. A number of Control Panels can offer you more advanced functions too - changing file and folder permissions or creating and unpacking archives. Although files could be uploaded and downloaded via an FTP client, the File Manager is used a lot more often, so the easier to use it is, the easier it will be for you to control your presence online in its entirety. The opposite is also true - a File Manager which is not easy to use could make it more aggravating and complicated for you to manage your site content, specifically if you do not have previous experience.

File Manager in Shared Web Hosting

The File Manager tool, which is a part of our in-house developed Hepsia CP, will allow you to administer all of the files that you upload to your shared web hosting account without any difficulty. You can move files and whole folders by dragging-and-dropping them in the account. You may upload content in the same manner - select a file/folder on your computer and drag it to your Internet browser in which the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder in your account, you may also access context menus with more sophisticated options - you'll be able to set up or to unpack an archive, to create a password-protected area, to change the UNIX permissions using a web interface or to change the content with a number of editors without ever leaving the CP – a plain text editor, a code editor or an HTML editor. We've also provided help articles and video lessons, which you may access straight from the File Manager to learn more about its capabilities.
